Q: What is Launch?
A: Launch is a national three day performing arts showcase held yearly in Chicago, Illinois. Launch is not a modeling school or agency. Our purpose is to bring the best new talent from across the country together with top casting directors and agents who are eager to represent new talent. This is your chance to showcase your skills in front of some of the nation’s top entertainment industry professionals in one place, at one time. No other event gives you this kind of interactive exposure to industry leaders from across the globe in a fun, family-friendly weekend.
Q: Who is selected to attend Launch Showcase?
A: As professional model and talent scouts with ongoing relationships with industry leaders
and years of experience, we know exactly what agents are looking for at any given time. Not just anyone is selected to attend Launch. Agents, directors and of course, talent, are all screened prior to their participation at Launch. Models must possess a certain “look”, while talent need experience and an outgoing personality to back it up. Launch is "by invitation only", and participant numbers are purposely kept small and manageable to easily accommodate interaction with our prestigious industry professionals.
Q: How do I prepare to make the most of this opportunity?
A: Between now and Launch, your regional mother agent will be providing you with the most current workshops available. They will share their expert knowledge to prepare you for your performances during the Launch weekend. When meeting top model and talent agents, we feel it is important to come prepared.
Q: Will I have to change my future plans if I get “discovered”?
A: Absolutely not. What you choose to do with your opportunities is entirely up to you and your family. No one wants you to disrupt your education. Education always comes first! Some Launch participants, who are of age, will move to major markets to work with the agents they meet at the Launch Showcase, while many participants choose to live at home and work as models or actors only during the summer or when they are called for specific castings. This is completely acceptable within the industry for top-notch talent.
Q: Will I need a complete new wardrobe for the Launch Showcase?
A: In all likelihood your current wardrobe contains everything you will need for the weekend. Your mother agent will let you know what types of outfits you will need to bring. Remember, the agents come to see you, not your clothes. Wardrobe for the Launch weekend is very simple.
Q: How do I get to Launch Showcase?
A: Many Launch participants use our sponsorship and fundraising materials to help finance their trip, while others do not. If you need assistance, please ask your mother agent for help with fundraising. |
